We are thrilled to announce the results of our 2024 trauma-informed teacher training in the Holy Land!
Days after October 7, we created robust international partnerships to respond to the childhood toxic stress epidemic in the Holy Land.
Since then, we trained teachers from diverse Hebrew and Arabic-speaking classrooms to identify their students’ toxic stress symptoms and return them to learning. Over half of the teachers we trained told us we inspired them to change their teaching style.
At reGeneration, we always say, “Actions speak louder than words.” We are thrilled to report that our actions in the past eleven months have spoken loudly!
As we delivered our trauma-informed teacher training, we sought to diligently measure whether what we were doing was working. We carefully analyzed our teachers’ growing abilities to address their students’ toxic stress symptoms in the classroom.
We are happy to report that our 2024 Essence of Learning Trauma-Informed Teacher Training positively impacted classroom teachers throughout the Holy Land.
Transforming Participants’ Approach to Teaching
Respondents largely reported that the tools they learned were applicable in the classroom, with over half reporting that this training changed how they approached teaching.
Improved Ability to Recognize Toxic Stress Symptoms
Our approaches to trauma-informed education are science-based and field-tested for effectively reducing students’ toxic symptoms in the classroom.
During our training sessions in the Holy Land, we asked our participants how many of their students were affected by toxic stress. Nearly half estimated that 50% or more of their students are visibly impacted by the toxic stress generated by the Israel- Hamas war.
Increase In Teacher Preparedness
Our trainees also reported feeling much more prepared to teach toxic stress-affected children after completing our training.
These results helped confirm our hunch- that trauma-informed education can work in the Holy Land. Moving forward, we will continue to advance trauma-informed teacher training and awareness of childhood toxic stress.
